Required Education:
4 Year Degree
This position will be the direct supervisor for the student employee programming board of the University Centers. This position will train/educate student organization officers and advisors, help to coordinate the recognition process for new student organizations and re-recognition of continuing student organizations. Evening and weekend work is expected.
Schedule: 8:00am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday. Varied hours including evening, weekend and holiday hours will be required.
Primary Responsibilities (as a guideline, use Job Responsibilities from Job Overview section of the Job Library and support using specifics of the position)
Supervisor for Events and Activities (40%; approximately 16 hours per week)
Provide overall supervision for Event Producers (6), the student lead programming unit of the University Centers.
Attend weekly Event Producers staff meetings; engage in program development and implementation instruction.
Plan for regular on-site supervision of events and programs (nights and weekends).
Coordinate and implement CASE events in support of campus student engagement and retention efforts (i.e. Student Engagement Fair, Opening Weekend programming, Homecoming, Family Day).
Develop and monitor spend plans for programming.
Utilize Stevens Point Involvement Network (SPIN) to promote campus events and engagement opportunities.
Assess student program interests and trends.
Assist student staff with fulfilling all event requirements to ensure high program quality presentations (i.e., determining room setups, communicating technical needs with Event Technical Services, ticket sales/collections, etc.)
Support application and interview processes during the year.
Oversee related social media efforts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, SPIN, etc.).
Attend NACA regional conference to block book entertainment for the campus.
Student Organization Coordination (40%; approximately 16 hours per week)
Serve as student organization coordinator providing direction on recruitment, leadership, organizational communication, etc.
Help to coordination and implementation of the Student Engagement Fair each semester.
Support the student organization recognition process to include: goals, learning outcomes, agenda, training materials, presenters, and logistics.
Serve as temporary adviser for student organizations when applicable.
Provide orientation and ongoing training for student organization leaders and advisers regarding university policies, procedures, and risk management protocols.
Enforce University and departmental policies and procedures affecting student organization activities including compliance with policies related to student organization recognition.
Utilize Stevens Point Involvement Network (SPIN) to collect and record student organization information including adviser contracts, officer listings, hold harmless agreements, constitutions, etc.
Be knowledgeable of student organization’s purpose and mission and connect students with applicable student organization.
Investigate and execute procedure changes for student organizations.
Work with Campus Risk Management to secure liability and risk management details to share with unit and student organizations.
Manage the resource allocation process for offices and cabinets including promotion, applications and decision-making.
Administration (20%; approximately 8 hours per week)
Maintain a precise filing system.
Manage all financial transactions, maintain accurate books of all state accounts.
Work with Payment Services and Purchasing to ensure CASE entertainment contracts and payments to entertainers are processed in a timely manner, along with purchase of items to support campus events.
Attend regular staff meetings, individual meetings, and trainings. Participate in professional development activities that contribute positively to the department and University.
Represent department on University Centers and/or University committees, as needed.
