The Program Coordinator for Student Leadership is a full-time professional staff position which is part of the Office of University Centers within the Division of Student Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (UWL). In conjunction with the Associate Director of Student Engagement and Leadership, the Program Coordinator for Student Leadership is responsible for the development, implementation, and assessment of a comprehensive, strategic leadership development program. This individual will assume primary responsibility for advising UWL’s chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success, and UWL Fraternity & Sorority Life communities. This position will also assume shared responsibility of the Leadership and Involvement Center, alongside the Program Coordinator for Community Engagement and Belonging. This position will serve as an integral part of a collaborative team of Program Coordinators in the areas of Student Activities, Student Leadership, Community Engagement and Belonging, and Student Organizations.
Responsibilities:
In conjunction with the Associate Director of Student Engagement & Leadership – develop, promote, and coordinate programs within the Fraternity and Sorority Life community.
Assist in the development, implementation, and assessment of a comprehensive and strategic social Greek Life program.
Serve as the university contact for national social Fraternity and Sorority Life organizations.
Instill a values-based Fraternity and Sorority organization system.
Ensure that Fraternity and Sorority students enjoy living and learning in an environment that is physically and emotionally safe, secure, and supportive of the educational process and holds individualized groups responsible for their behavior.
Provide oversight and support of the Fraternity and Sorority annual recruitment process.
Supervise the social Fraternity and Sorority grade reports
Process grade reports to national organizations.
Responsible for risk management issue related to social Fraternity and Sorority organizations.

Advise social Fraternities and Sororities on:
Assist with connections to group philanthropies.
Advise the Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Council.
Serve as a campus expert on hazing and hazing education.
Serve as a liaison to the Title IX office and assist with related trainings for Fraternity and Sorority members.
Develop Fraternity and Sorority budgets for General Operations.
Assist students in budgeting process.
Assist with UWL’s use of UGetConnected, a shared web platform tracking volunteer service within the community.
Review and develop applicable contracts for chapter and organization events and programs.
In collaboration with the Program Coordinator of Community Engagement and Belonging, will focus on initiatives to engage Fraternity and Sorority members in volunteerism and civic engagement.
Develop, promote, and coordinate leadership programs within the Leadership and Involvement Center.
Assist in the development, implementation, and assessment of a comprehensive and strategic leadership development program.
Supervise annual events such as: UWL Leadership Summit, “Leadership in…” Series, NSLS Induction, and the Eagle Excellence in Leadership Awards (EELAs). Plan and implement roundtable discussions with campus leaders. Evaluate current programs with the intent to develop new programs related to expanding leadership and service for student organizations and students.
Coordinate the Chancellor’s Volunteer Service Award program as well as the Spring Recognition Ceremony.
Advise UWL Chapter of National Society for Leadership and Success, including coordinating all communication with perspective and current members, orientation and leadership training days, speaker broadcasts, Support Network Teams, socials, and the NSLS induction each Spring.
Review and develop applicable contracts for the Leadership and Involvement Center.
Develop, present, and maintain applicable budgets.
Hire, train, and supervise 2-3 undergraduate student staff.
Oversee the coordination of logistical planning for programs and events, in collaboration with areas of the University including, but not limited to: Campus Dining, Facilities Management, Parking, and University Police.
Serve as a member of the University Centers leadership team.
Assist with the coordination of training and development for student and graduate assistant staff.
Contribute to the development of the annual report, development of strategic goals, and the assessment of established goals.
Ensure the unit’s philosophy and direction permeates the programs and services of the unit.
Facilitate the evaluation of programs and services within the unit.
Represent University Centers on campus committees.
Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Student Engagement and Leadership.
Attend University functions of general importance to the student body or the University.
Serve on Student Affairs and University committees as needed.
Participate in regional and national Student Union and Activities Associations.
Other duties as mutually agreed upon with supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field plus 5 years of experience, or Master’s Degree in relevant field.
Experience working with student leadership development, Fraternity & Sorority Life and/or Campus Activities.
Possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and the willingness to work and communicate in a highly collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Student Affairs Administration, Student Development, Higher Education, or related field.
Experience working with Fraternity & Sorority Life communities.
Knowledge of student development and experience working with and advising college students.
Experience in the planning and management of small to large scale events and programs.
Experience in reviewing and executing performer/activity contracts.
