The Executive Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Academic Planning (IEAP) provides strategic coordination and leadership for academic and institutional planning, accreditation readiness, policy stewardship, and data integrity. Reporting to the Provost and Vice President of Student and Academic Affairs, the Executive Director ensures that Morton College’s academic and operational systems work in alignment to advance institutional excellence, accountability, and student success. This position plays a key role in translating strategy into systems that serve students—ensuring that the College’s policies, records, and academic operations function cohesively to remove barriers and improve outcomes. Drawing on expertise in academic operations, documentation, and continuous improvement, the Executive Director strengthens institutional capacity by ensuring decisions are informed, coordinated, and grounded in integrity.
Duties
Institutional Planning and Alignment
Lead the coordination of integrated planning processes that align academic, operational, and strategic priorities.
Develop and maintain frameworks for evidence-based decision-making and institutional documentation that support accreditation and planning.
Provide actionable analysis and insight to the Provost, Associate Vice Presidents, and Deans to guide academic planning and operational improvements.
Oversee the integration of institutional data sources to promote accuracy, transparency, and accountability.
Academic Operations and Systems
Provide leadership for centralized academic operations including curriculum management, scheduling, and the academic calendar.
Ensure that scheduling and catalog processes support enrollment goals, program pathways, and student success initiatives.
Coordinate across divisions to align operational systems, improve efficiency, and maintain data integrity across Colleague, scheduling, and catalog platforms.
Partner with Academic Affairs and Student Services leadership to ensure cohesive and student-centered academic operations.
Accreditation and Institutional Integrity
Serve as the institutional liaison to the Higher Learning Commission and other accrediting or regulatory bodies.
Coordinate the preparation of accreditation reports, assurance arguments, and evidence portfolios, ensuring accuracy and consistency across divisions.
Maintain systems and documentation that demonstrate institutional integrity and readiness for accreditation reviews.
Integrate accreditation, policy, and planning documentation into a single framework that supports continuous improvement and reflects Morton’s commitment to equitable access and student success.
Policy Stewardship and Institutional Coordination
Serve as the institutional steward for College policies, coordinating development, review, and publication in accordance with established procedures.
Maintain the official policy repository and ensure consistency of format, alignment, and accessibility across divisions.
Collaborate with senior leaders and governance bodies to ensure that policy processes reflect accountability, transparency, and institutional best practices.
Integrate policy stewardship into Morton’s broader framework for institutional effectiveness and continuous improvement.
Continuous Improvement and Culture of Inquiry
Strengthen institutional documentation, reporting, and evidence systems to support organizational learning and performance.
Promote a culture of inquiry, evidence, and continuous improvement across the institution by modeling best practices in documentation, analysis, and decision support.
Provide guidance to faculty and staff on documentation standards, assessment processes, and policy implementation as they relate to institutional effectiveness.
Supervise IEAP professional and support staff, fostering teamwork, innovation, and disciplined operational practice.
RequiredQualifications
Master’s degree in higher education administration, organizational leadership, public administration, or a related field.
At least five years of progressively responsible experience in academic operations, planning, assessment, or accreditation.
Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives related to data integrity, policy management, or institutional documentation.
Supervisory experience and a proven ability to lead through collaboration and influence. · Knowledge of Colleague or other enterprise systems.
Deep understanding of academic operations, registrar systems, and institutional documentation processes.
Demonstrated success coordinating cross-divisional projects involving data, planning, and accreditation.
Strong analytical and organizational skills with a commitment to data integrity and process improvement.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to facilitate work across diverse teams and levels of the institution.
Ability to translate complex operational systems into clear, actionable strategies.

Preferred Qualifications
Doctorate in higher education administration or a related field.
Experience in a community college environment.
