The Director of Facilities, Operations & Events provides strategic leadership for operations, events, and campus reservations across Georgia Tech’s Student and Campus Event Centers (SCEC) portfolio. Oversees three integrated service units — Operations, Event Services, and an in-house Custodial Services team — supporting major campus venues including the John Lewis Student Center, Exhibition Hall, Pavilions, Historic Academy of Medicine, and shared outdoor and classroom spaces. The role directs facility stewardship, event operations, and campus reservation strategy, policy, and partnerships, ensuring spaces, services, and experiences operate as a coordinated campus system that supports student life, major Institute events, and daily campus operations.
Experience leading multi-unit operations, facilities, or venue-based service organizations preferred.
8-10 years of job related experience.
Strategic Leadership & Governance. Serve on the Student and Campus Event Centers leadership team, providing strategic direction for facilities, outdoor venues, campus reservations, and operational service delivery.
People Management & Professional Development. Supervise and develop professional and frontline staff through hiring, performance evaluation, coaching, goal setting, feedback, and ongoing professional growth.
Facilities & Infrastructure Oversight. Coordinate renovation projects and oversee building operations, maintenance partnerships, and facility stewardship, ensuring safe, functional, and event ready spaces.
Financial & Budget Management. Develop, manage, and monitor operations and events budgets, including forecasting, expense oversight, resource allocation, and achievement of revenue targets.
Policy Development & Service Excellence. Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and service standards that promote consistency, risk management, operational effectiveness, and campus reservation governance.
Stakeholder Engagement & Campus Partnerships. Collaborate with campus and external partners and serve as a strategic advisor on facility operations, sustainability, space utilization, and event planning.
Data & Technology Enabled Operations. Leverage data, performance metrics, and technology systems to assess effectiveness, improve workflows, and support staffing, resource, and process decisions.
