The University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, SC is seeking a student-centered faculty member to serve as the Assistant Dean for Pre-clerkship Curriculum. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education, the Assistant Dean plays a key leadership role in the delivery and advancement of the pre-clerkship curriculum. This position involves working closely with course, block and thread directors, the curriculum committee, and basic science departments to ensure curricular integration, quality, and alignment with the medical school program objectives. The Assistant Dean also champions initiatives that enhance student success, promote faculty development, and encourage innovation in curriculum design and teaching. The Assistant Dean for Pre-Clerkship Curriculum will help shape the early medical education experience through innovative curriculum development, faculty collaboration, and student support. Broad knowledge of frameworks related to educational technology, precision medical education, and AI in medical education are strongly preferred.

Qualified candidates will hold an MD, DO, or PhD degree in a biomedical field from an accredited university and have at least three years of progressively responsible leadership experience in a medical school or academic health center. Candidates must be eligible for a faculty appointment at the School of Medicine-Columbia and have demonstrated a record of scholarly achievement, teaching experience, and service commensurate with the rank of clinical associate professor or clinical professor.
