| Department: | The Department of Psychology is the largest academic department within the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. As part of the department's academic mission, the department employs a large number of faculty, graduate students, students and staff. |
| Position Overview: | To serve as the Administrative Assistant for the Department of Psychology and provide support for the faculty, staff, students and graduate students of the department. Serve as the primary payroll preparer, including the tasks associated with the hiring of new faculty, staff, graduate students, and hourly undergraduate students, bi-weekly time entry, change PARs, and terminations. This position also serves as the travel coordinator for the Department of Psychology and is responsible for travel-related P-Card purchases, including conference registrations and hotel reservations; preparation of travel expense statements for processing by Financial Services; and purchasing of supplies and equipment. Additionally, this position serves as the coordinator for all faculty and staff searches through Interfolio and PageUp, working with personnel in the CAHSS Dean's office, Provost's office, and HR to coordinate interviews, arranging travel for interviewees for faculty positions. As a P-Card holder, this position serves as the backup for general office supply purchases and some equipment and event purchases, is responsible for the allocation of its P-Card purchases in PS Finance and maintains P-Card records per State of Maryland and University guidelines. This position is also responsible for entering requisitions into PAW (University’s procurement system). Serve as the supervisor for the student office workers, including recruiting, hiring and scheduling. This position also issues parking permits, tags incoming inventory, and assists with inventory preparation. |

| Responsibilities: | This position will be responsible for: - Primary payroll preparer, including onboarding new employees and graduate students, bi-weekly time entry, and terminations.
- Coordinate new faculty hires through Interfolio and Page Up.
- Coordinate travel and hotel reservations for interviewees for open faculty positions.
- Coordinate schedules for faculty interviewees with on-campus personnel, including the Provost's office, Dean's office and department personnel.
- Coordinate travel related P-card purchases for conference registrations and hotel reservations.
- Primary P-Card holder for travel-related purchases and serve as backup for general office purchases and some equipment purchases.
- Reallocate P-Card purchases in PS Finance, maintain P-Card records per State of MD and University guidelines.
- Assist with inventory purchases, tagging of new equipment and tracking equipment.
- Coordinate parking permit codes and maintain records for proper billing for all parking codes needed for visitors to the department.

| Required Minimum Qualifications: | - High School Degree or GED
- 3 years experience providing administrative support
Note: Additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience. |

| Salary: | Pay Range 9 (minimum: $22.41/hr, maximum: $29.68/hr) based on the University System of Maryland (USM) Pay Program. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, Memorandum of Understanding, USM Board of Regent policies, internal equity, budget and qualifications and experience. Most salary offers will be close to the minimum part of the range. The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. |
