Required:
- PhD. degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience at the college/university level.
- Demonstrated ability to implement innovative, student-centered teaching strategies and diverse assessment techniques that promote active learning and measurable achievement of learning outcomes.
- Experience with basic and advanced laboratory skills in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, and genetics, relevant to current techniques used in biotechnology and life sciences research
- Area of lab research that can be performed with undergraduate students.
- Commitment to undergraduate education and student success.
- Evidence of teaching excellence, including evaluations from supervisors and students.
- Knowledge and experience leveraging educational technology in teaching.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni).
- Record of scholarly activities commensurate with an academic appointment.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems such as Blackboard.
Physical Requirements:
- Work requires sitting, standing and walking as part of classroom and laboratory instruction.
- Must be able to use technology, such as typing and manipulating a mouse/mouse pad
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs and maintain good physical mobility to support laboratory instruction and operation.
Compensation
The pay range associated with this posting reflects the amount the University reasonably expects to pay for this role at this time. Salary offers are determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications as well as internal equity, market data and pay in comparison to similarly situated employees doing comparable work.
Hiring Range: $77,000 - $105,000
Assistant Professor: $77,000 - $86,000
Associate Professor: $85,000 - $95,000
Professor: $94,000 - $105,000
