Under the supervision of the NC State Student Centersassistant director for operations and student development, the primary purpose of this position is to coordinate, assess, and implement a robust student development program for 100+ student employees. This position is critical to fulfilling the NC State Student Centers mission to “serve as a cornerstone for student growth, learning, and involvement, including an environment prioritizing students leading operations.”
This position will direct the hiring and onboarding of new student employees, including recruitment, supervision and oversight of a student hiring committee, and completion of all human resources requirements. This position will also facilitate the promotion process for existing staff members, including maintaining eligibility records, coordinating interviews, and providing interview feedback in support of professional development.
In addition, this position will design and implement a professional development program by collaborating with campus partners and designing unique workshops to meet the needs of student employees. This position is responsible for training and supervision of the student community building committee, which includes planning and implementation of ongoing programming throughout the semester.
This position is responsible for the marketing and implementation of a department-wide employee recognition initiative. This position will create and maintain a system to monitor training progress for all student employees in alignment with our learning outcomes and objectives.
This position will collaborate with supervisors to ensure the fair and consistent implementation of processes and initiatives across the student employment program, and provide ongoing training to supervisors to ensure they are capable of supporting student success and development through daily interactions with students and through formal processes including training, accountability, semesterly evaluations, and recognition.
In collaboration with the department leadership, this position will provide ongoing formal assessment of the student employment program in relation to the learning objectives and assessing student employment in the student centers as a high impact practice.

Prior experience in student development, student affairs, or other student-related field in a college or university setting (preferred but not required)
