The Dean of Students Office at Illinois State University is seeking a dedicated Associate Dean of Students to join our dynamic team. This role provides essential support to the Dean of Students, helping to shape student experiences and foster an inclusive, supportive campus environment.
As a key leader, you’ll have the opportunity to: - Exercise independent judgment and handle a diversified mixture of responsibilities - Support the University’s core values by providing individualized attention and access to programs and services for underrepresented students - Advocate for students and assist with conflict resolution - Contribute to programs and services such as student advocacy, crisis response, legal services, student involvement, leadership development, sorority and fraternity life, and large-scale campus events

1. Master's degree in student affairs or related area. 2. Minimum of seven years of experience in student affairs/services at a college/university. 3. Experience supervising full-time staff members in higher education setting is required. 4. Excellent written, oral, administrative, organizational, and judgment skills; demonstrated experience in creating productive work relationships with peers and students. 5. Ability to work in a high-demand environment, work cooperatively in a team setting, multi-task, and be able to self-initiate and work independently. 6. Experience in strategic planning and organizational budget management. 7. Ability to work extended hours, and periodic nights and weekends. 8. Ability and means to drive at night. 9. Highly dependable and display a professional manner and appearance, be student-service oriented, and able to work with diverse constituencies. 10. Full knowledge of principles of diversity and demonstrates cultural competency.
