Overview
The Assistant Director, Student Activities & Alumni Engagement will be responsible for serving as primary contact for student groups and faculty advisors; conceptualizing planning and coordinating student group and alumni events inclusive of projecting staff and space needs, monitoring logistics for events, and attending events to ensure quality and objectives are met; organizing communication strategies with students and alumni to maximize event attendance and participation in school programming managing unit operating budgets, reimbursements, preparing expense forecasts, and monitoring as well as approving expenditures against budgets; and supervising student workers
Responsibilities
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Higher Education
Required Experience: 3+ years programming conceptualization, planning, implementation, and budget management experience.
Preferred Experience: Experience with student populations a plus. Professional experience in academic or nonprofit environment.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: The incumbent in this position will have outstanding client service skills, ability to maintain extremely well-organized records and a detail-oriented approach, along with excellent interpersonal as well as oral and written communications skills. In addition, the incumbent must be able to think strategically and act tactically. The individual will also have sufficient mastery of Excel, Salesforce or comparable CRM, and ability to manage unit budgets.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $80,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
