Temporary Print Operator (Term Position) - Student & Campus Life

Student and Campus Life (SCL) inspires transformation in all Cornell students on their journey of individual, academic and personal evolution. Our division is comprised of leading student affairs experts who support our campus on pressing student life matters including public service, health, wellness, social justice, residential living, food services, sports, recreation, career services, and student activities and organizations including sorority and fraternity life. Located in Ithaca, NY, Cornell Print Services serves the Cornell community by providing graphic and printing products and services to support teaching, research, outreach, and the student experience. We support multiple units of the university by collaborating to provide print services at our physical location in Ithaca and online. We are committed to providing an excellent customer experience, expert knowledge, and professional results. Cornell Print Services is a part of Cornell Retail Services, a self-funded enterprise operated by Cornell University.

In a fast-paced printing environment, the Print Operator will be supporting print production efforts to ensure timely completion and delivery of print job orders to our students, staff, faculty, alumni, and other customers.

General Responsibilities:

• Receive, review, process, and package print job orders.
• Deliver rush orders, etc. when courier is not available.
• Monitor and inspect printed products for print clarity, color accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
• Perform pre & post printing functions as needed such as: collating, laminating, perfect binding, coil binding, etc.
• Operation of black and white and color printers.
• Operation of Perfect Binder, large capacity cutter, folder, drill, UV Coater, Duplo creaser / cutter, and Duplo booklet maker.
• Large Format printing and finishing.
• Maintain inventory of supplies.
• Report print meter readings to the supervisor.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

In this role, we require:

• Demonstrated experience in being a team player and working in a fast-paced environment
• Dependable attendance & punctuality as well as flexibility around your schedule based on business needs.
• Moderate computer/systems competency
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to occasionally climb ladders and lift and/or move 25-50 pounds as needed
• Valid New York State Driver License
• High School Diploma
