The Office of Student Affairs for the Doctor of Medicine program seeks an Assistant Director for Advising and Student Activities. Student Affairs provides services in an environment that promotes intellectual and professional development, provides cultural and global experiences, supports career goals, nurtures growth as leaders and inspires excellence and resilience.
The deans and staff provide support and services in the areas of counseling for academic or personal issues, career advisement, student wellbeing and student organizations and interest groups.
Meet with students about fourth year scheduling. Advise on graduation and specialty requirements.Â
Revise schedules when appropriate to support application to residency in collaboration with Career advising team.
Review M4 schedules for completeness and full-time enrollment eligibility.
Compile letters of recommendation and nominations for student scholarships and awards on behalf of the Associate Dean for Student Affairs.
Liaison for student groups and student leaders.
Educate and interpret University policies for student groups.Â
Work with Associated Students of the School of Medicine (ASSM),
Oversee student interest group coalition. Meet with SIG leadership to facilitate shared programming, discuss common issues, etc.
Develop and implement leadership training for student leaders. Meet quarterly with ASSM and Class Co-presidents to discuss issues and coordinate calendaring.
Liaise with Student Affairs Deans and Office of Diversity and Inclusion in regard to Student group matters
Coordinate weekly student affairs announcements via post-Clerkship newsletter and MedEd Student Bulletin.
Working with Student Affairs Director for updating content of webpages for Student Affairs.
Collaborate with Student Affairs Assistant to develop and maintain master calendar for student affairs.
Support and review preparation of M4 MSPE reviews.
The annual rate range for this position is $64,480 - $68,992.
