The Student Activities Coordinator provides high level quality support for student events and clubs within Clark's School of Professional Studies (SPS). This individual's primary responsibility is to coordinate extra/co-curricular programming for SPS students and facilitate activities for informal SPS student clubs and organizations throughout the academic year.
Major Responsibilities: The Student Activities Coordinator (SAC) plans and coordinates all extra and co-curricular SPS events with the assistance of SPS Peer Advisors. The SAC also serves as the primary contact for all informal SPS clubs and organizations.
The Student Activities Coordinator:
Serves as the advisor for all informal SPS clubs and organizations
Serves as a resource to all SPS students in event planning.
Plans and oversees all non-academic orientation events
Advises and oversees night and weekend events.
Monitors the SPS events budget
Collaborates with other Clark graduate units in developing shared events
Evaluates and monitors the needs of the SPS student population as it relates to student life and experience
Assists with student-facing events such as orientation, awards ceremonies, commencement activities, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required.
Experience in student programming and advising student groups preferred.
Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs and concerns of a diverse student population and demonstrated ability to meet their needs.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion related to a University setting, including awareness of intercultural trends and issues facing higher education.
Experience working with international student and adult learners.
Effectively expresses oneself in oral and written communication.
Displays proactive problem solving approach toward student engagement.
Collaborates effectively with others to achieve high quality student engagement.
Demonstrates a high level of self-discipline and self-motivation to accomplish the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Responsible, dependable, organized, and detailed-oriented with demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple and competing priorities.
Ability to discern appropriate level of communication with multiple audiences and maintain confidentiality and compliance with ADA, FERPA, SEVIS and other applicable state, federal, University and School of Professional Studies policy and guidelines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite tools.
Flexibility with work assignments and hours that include evening and weekends.
