The person in this position serves as a full-time professional member of the Centennial Student Union and Student Activities staff and provides oversight for the functional areas of Recognized Student Organizations, Leadership Programming, and the Nontraditional Student Center's resources and programs. The positions requires an ability to think and plan strategically, balance multiple priorities, and navigate politically sensitive topics and areas to accomplish goals and priorities that further the department's mission and vision.
Master's degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education, Educational Leadership or related field of study.
Minimum of 2 years experience in the student union, student activities, or student affairs field, or equivalent, Graduate work may be included.
Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of student development theory and the ability to apply these to students and learning outcomes.
Knowledge of comprehensive student activities program including programming, student organizations, and leadership development.
Commitment to the educational goals of Student Activities, knowledge of the college union philosophy, and the ability to serve as a team member, developing a comprehensive student involvement program.
Understanding of nontraditional students and how best to serve their needs within the university environment.
Knowledge of and experience managing comprehensive marketing and publicity campaigns, including the use of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, etc.), and website management.
Demonstrated ability to think and plan strategically, balance multiple priorities, and navigate politically sensitive topics and areas.
Willingness to work evenings and weekends as job may require.
Awareness of and the commitment to the educational and cultural benefits of multiculturalism.
Work safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.
Work Location: Based on the essential functions of this positions, MMB Policy #1422, and University policies relating to flexible work, this position is eligible for the following work modes:
Case by case/Situational Telework: A position that may include a temporary reassignment or work outside the permanent/principal work location to meet short-term needs. Up to 10% of the time.
Other (driver's license etc.): Valid US Driver's License

The salary range denoted above is the contractual range; however, salary upon hire is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
