Ramapo College is currently operating under the RamaPro model which is a pilot program allowing for a remote component to work schedules where operations support that model.
This is a full-time, 12 months AFT position, and the hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Note: This position is in the “NL” category of employment (non-fixed work week) An AFT- NL professional staff member or librarian who is required to work beyond 35 hours shall be compensated through compensatory time off. Compensatory time shall be earned for hours worked beyond the normal work week, or on an employee’s regular day off, if requested and approved by their supervisor.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Coordinator of the Women’s Center & LGBTQ+ Services reports to the Assistant Director of the Center for the Student Involvement/Coordinator of the Office of Violence Prevention. The Coordinator is responsible for assisting in facilitating the vision for services and programming of the Women's Center & LGBTQ+ Services, which frequently require additional skills in counseling, advocacy, and referral. The mission of the Women's Center & LGBTQ+ Services incorporates a commitment to understanding and embracing all types of diversity and the Coordinator provides leadership in supporting this goal.
The Coordinator serves as a campus resource and helps educate the community on issues regarding women and gender, sexuality, and identity. The Coordinator is responsible for establishing the Center's vision and for addressing student concerns regarding women and gender, sexuality, and identity issues. The Coordinator works closely with students and student organizations to build leadership skills and develop relevant programming.
The Coordinator, as part of the CSI staff, also has shared responsibilities for event coverage, the development of a comprehensive activities calendar, and support. ing the mission of the College, the Division, and the Unit.
Duties:
- Responsible for the daily operation of the Women's Center & LGBTQ+ Services.
- Train and supervise the Women's Center & LGBTQ+ Services student staff, and student volunteers.
- Coordinate Women's Center & LGBTQ+ Services operational policies and procedures for the Center including facilities, services, staffing, hours of operation, resources, library, and referrals.
- Establish and maintain a database of on-campus and community resources for Women identified students and LGBTQ-identified students.
- Plan and/or supervise, schedule, market and implement all educational programs sponsored by the Women's Center including Queer & Trans History Month, Vagina Monologues, Women's Herstory Month, and World AIDS Day.
- Maintain the Women's Center & LGBTQ+ Services Social Media presence, and other communication outlets.
- Coordinate the Safe Zone Program including providing ongoing training.
- Co-coordinate Gender-Inclusive Housing Living Learning Community program (in collaboration with Residence Life).
- Coordinate and serve as a resource for gender-related programming and issues on campus.
- Coordinate and serve as a resource for LGBTQ-related programming and issues on campus.
- Serve as a liaison to Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies minor.
- Recommend, administer, and monitor the Women's Center & LGBTQ Services budget.
- Evaluate and assess Women’s Center & LGBTQ+ Services goals, operations, and programs.
Assist Assistant Director in the Center for Student Involvement in other projects as needed.
Shared CSI Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain linkages with faculty, academic units, and campus-wide committees with the intention of developing programs and services that support the mission of the College and other current College initiatives.
- Participate in an on-call rotation of CSI staff to cover evening and weekend events. Assist with major student events including Orientation, Senior Week, and Commencement.
- All other duties as assigned, according to agreed upon goals of the Unit. Some evening and weekend hours are required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree is required.
- A Master’s Degree in Counseling, Higher Education, or a related field is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of one year of experience is required, two years of experience is preferred.
- Experience in an institution of higher education or related environment that is directly related to job responsibilities.
- Knowledge and experience providing leadership to campus or other community regarding gender-related programs and training.
