The Arizona Student Unions is seeking a customer-centric and financially literate professional to manage our growing Meal Plans Office. This unit processes $20MM in annual deferred revenue for nearly 10,000 unique account holders comprised of students, staff, and faculty. This position will oversee both the customer facing functions and back-office operations of the Meal Plans Office. As such, the incumbent must have skills in both customer service and financial management. Priorities for this role will be ensuring a high-quality customer experience, maintaining accurate financial records, identifying new initiatives, and managing operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in sales, customer service, staff management, profit and loss management, professional communication of complex concepts, and the ability to elicit buy-in from skeptics.

Job duties include:

• Oversee the day-to-day functions of the Meal Plans Office, including management of 2-4 full time staff and a small team of student employees.
• Ensure a high-quality customer experience by training and maintaining a knowledgeable staff, and by creating procedures that have the customer's perspective in mind.
• Manage non-technical aspects of the Meal Plans accounting staff to ensure the accuracy of accounting records, a timely month end process, the maintenance of established internal controls, and high-quality internal customer service.
• Maintain an annual budget and participate in regular business meetings to provide financial updates and budget variance explanations.
• Create scalable business systems that allow for growth and change.
• Act as the subject matter expert for all things Meal Plans, including the mechanics of each type of UArizona Meal Plan, the policy and economics driving the plans, and the landscape of the Arizona Student Unions dining experience.
• Serve as the final escalation point for customer issues and create systems that reduce escalations.
• Act as the liaison for the Meal Plan Office and the campus community, giving formal and informal presentations and being prepared to educate our community.
• Work closely with the Arizona Student Unions Marketing and Dining teams to synchronize messaging and trainings.
• Work closely with the Arizona Student Unions business office to complete monthly transactions and business processes.
• Occasionally drives for business related work.
• Additional duties as assigned by Manager.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
• Minimum of 5 years of related work experience, including 2 years of managerial experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

• Knowledge of basic leadership practices.
• Skill in performing detailed numerical computations.
• Skill in preparing detailed reports on a timely basis.
• Skill in the use of computer hardware and software.
• Ability to effectively communicate.
• Knowledge of office management principles and practices.
• Occasionally transports/moves a maximum of 50 pounds.
