This position will provide leadership and develop a robust campus activities program, which includes the planning, budgeting, implementation, and assessment of social and educational programs to address the needs and interests of the students.
Essential Job Functions:
• Creates, designs, coordinates and implements student activities for Welcome week, a Fall event, a Winter event, a Spring event, and other appropriate events.
• Collaborates with a campus wide team to plan, coordinate, and execute Fall Student Orientation.
• Hires, trains, and supervises Orientation Leaders for summer and fall orientation programs.
• Supervises student workers in Student Activities.
• Provides leadership and management for student activities that are social, educational, and diverse cultural experiences.
• Develops methods for evaluating program effectiveness in helping promote holistic learning and growth that supports the mission of the College and the co-curricular learning outcomes.
• Advises and oversees the Student Senate and activities whose focus is to improve students’ involvement on campus.
• Leads the planning and implementation of evening and weekend programming initiatives.
• Serves as a point person for all registered student organizations and advisors.
• Advises the Programming Board on marketing and implementation of various events and activities; acts as primary decision maker on departmental events.
• Develops and maintains the data collection of club rosters and campus membership protocols through online engagement tools.
• Advertises and maintains an events calendar for activities in coordination with the College events calendar.
• Establishes and provides oversight for a Campus Programming Board by mentoring and developing student members.
• Travels with student organizations to conferences and workshops to assist where needed; assists student groups with travel arrangements.
• Oversees the daily operation of the Student Activities office.
• Responsibly manages Student Activities budget.
• Performs other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Must have Master’s degree in College Student Personnel/Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, or other related field.
• Must demonstrate a proven ability to work effectively with different constituencies, including Student Senate, student groups, peers and upper management.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience developing and leading student events/activities.
• Must demonstrate the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Must demonstrate effective problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to effectively manage and resolve conflicts.
• Must demonstrate initiative, ability to self-manage, and a strong work ethic.
• Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with different audiences.
• Must demonstrate ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
• Must be able and willing to work various hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Must demonstrate commitment to the College’s mission.
