ROLE of the POSITION
This position exists to manage all event related operations for events held within SUES-managed and operated facilities as contracted between SUES and clients. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Provide high-level service and satisfaction through implementing plans that match guest needs.
Supervise the overall setup, operation, and strike of event equipment such as AV, tables, chairs, dance floors, trash cans, and other SUES’ equipment as well as outside vendor’s rental equipment.
Facilitate pre-production and weekly scheduling meetings
Conduct venue walkthroughs and ensuring equipment is set-up and/or stored properly and organized.
Monitor daily event and client needs
Supervise, train and development two full-time staff to administer event and AV areas
Provide as needed on-site event assistance
Manage equipment maintenance, purchases, upgrades and inventory
Supervise budgetary management of event operations, student staff labor allocations and purchases
In coordination with Student Union facilities area, supervise and administer projects related to technological and event needs in meeting and event spaces
Facilitate and provide for growth of SUES’ equipment loan and check-out program
Responsible for the oversight of an approx. $80,000 annual budget for event operations equipment maintenance and purchase, and policy and procedure implementation
Provide 24 hour on-call emergency response duty as it relates to events.
This position oversees the student event staff and directly supervises the full-time staff positions of Event Technology Coordinator and Event Operations Coordinator positions.
This position will require evening and weekend work.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university (master’s degree preferred). Minimum 3 years combination of full time and/or academic year graduate assistant experience working in event operations, audio/visual, event production and/or event planning required. Three years direct supervision experience of student and/or full-time staff required. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.
