The Facilities Manager works in collaboration with the Director to manage projects and ongoing maintenance to ensure customer satisfaction within the Michigan Ross facilities. You will work daily with staff, vendors and contractors to maintain operational efficiencies. You will report directly to the Director of Operations and Safety.

Operations and Maintenance Management
Manage all auxiliary services and operations including inventory management, employee assignments, and policy and practice implementation; ensure safety procedures are maintained throughout the Ross complex.
Help plan the annual budget; maintain labor and material expenditures within budget; analyze monthly expenditure variances reports.
Work with numerous faculty and staff in other University departments and vendors and outside contractors to manage the quality and flow of work. Assure good customer relations with our clients.
Provide in-field coordination and oversight of repair work and projects involving skilled trades' staff, maintenance staff, and contract service providers; approve estimates for contract maintenance repairs and oversee contracted repairs.
Make regular field inspections to assess condition of building systems and work quality.
Provide positive leadership to the team; communicate vision and expectations; ensure team have necessary skills, tools and information, and remove barriers to success; provide opportunities for professional growth through ongoing performance feedback, coaching and skill development; recruit new team members members.
Advocate for a positive team culture by addressing challenging situations, strengthening cooperation amongst the team, and facilitating meetings with staff to increase overall efficiencies within the team.
Facility Project Management
Manage facility projects, utilities usage, custodial services, and maintenance staff in the daily operations of the five building, 600,000 sq. ft. complex.
Provide direction on emergency, scheduled, preventive, and project work orders to experienced trade staff, building maintenance staff, and contractors.
Investigate and document major project needs and consult with the Director of Operations.
Working together with University Plant Maintenance, the Facility Manager contributes to the planning and scope development of major projects, including MEP, civil and architectural plan review and comments, field assessments of work, and punch list development.
Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience of related experience in facilities management or equivalent combination of education and related experience
Experience managing teams of 5 or more employees
Experience developing and presenting materials to diverse audiences
1 or more years of project management experience
Experience navigating partners to achieve shared objectives
Experience in strategic planning and execution
