Job Summary: SUNY Brockport, State University of New York is accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Student Union & Activities. The Assistant Director supports and coordinates the total program that serves the educational, social, cultural, and recreational interests of the college and provides students with opportunities to develop leadership and programming skills. Regarding student organizations, the Assistant Director is responsible for providing support and structure to a comprehensive student organization program; including event management for student organization activities in both the Seymour College Union and other locations on campus. This position reports to the Director of Student Union & Activities and supervises the Student Organization Coordinator, as well as graduate assistants and student staff.
Bachelor's degree by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a higher education setting.
Experience with student organizational development.
Experience with event programming and preparation.
Experience supervising staff.
Understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work non-traditional hours, includes nights and weekends.
Master's degree from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
Minimum of 5 or more years of experience in higher education with a focus on student activities.
Experience reviewing contracts for event performers.
Experience working with computers, particularly basic publication programs. Work Schedule: M-F day hours, some nights and weekends
